Posted: 10/16/2016

Cab Layout

You wouldn’t buy a pickup with an uncomfortable cab - why expect anything less from your loader? Having enough legroom, adjustable hand controls, and plenty of heat and air-conditioning vents make long days tolerable. That’s why Bobcat® makes your comfort a top priority. Kubota®, Caterpillar®, Case® and New Holland® have some comfort features, but only Bobcat gives you the most comfort for a long day of work. The comparison is simple. Watch the test to see for yourself.

As an operator, you can be more productive when you're comfortable. Settling into a cab that conforms to your body reduces physical strain. This means you don't need to stop as often for a break. Bobcat engineers its compact track loaders to be comfortable and powerful.

Bobcat vs. Other Brands

Four images comparing cab features of a Bobcat loader to Kubota, Caterpillar, Case and New Holland loaders.

Test Results

Bobcat loaders offer the most operator comfort. With multiple air vents to keep the operator warm or cool, controls adjust that with the seat, and ample legroom, you’ll be comfortable even during a long days.

Kubota, Case and New Holland offered sufficient legroom, but the controls could be an issue. Kubota’s joysticks aren’t adjustable, and Case and New Holland joysticks are difficult to adjust and don’t move with the seat. Both loaders also have fewer air vents.

Caterpillar offered the least amount of legroom, but the joysticks adjust with the seat. The air vents are at the bottom of the cab, which can make cooling or warming your upper body or defrosting the window a challenge.

How We Test Equipment

Bobcat Advantage behind the scenes testing equipment video.

When you’re shopping for a new machine, it’s easy to compare specs. After all, that’s the best way to compare machines, right? Not quite. With specs, you’re only getting part of the story. They don’t measure real performance on your jobsite and that’s what matters most. It’s the reason we put top brands through the paces with fair, accurate, and repeatable tests. Watch to see how we developed the tests.
