Working at Bobcat

Josh is a test engineer for Doosan Bobcat in Tucson, Arizona
Tim is a senior manager of dealer accounts for Doosan Bobcat in West Fargo, North Dakota.
Jennifer is a product service manager for Doosan Bobcat in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Test Engineer

Josh credits his career success to an internship he completed with the company. Josh is a Test Engineer in Tucson, Arizona.

He first became interested in our company as a student; because he knew about the caliber of people he would have the opportunity to work with. He says every encounter he’s had with coworkers since he started has been positive. “My coworkers are always eager to assist in any way possible, which promotes an excellent work environment and an atmosphere that encourages cross-training and learning,” he says.

Because of the invaluable experience, he gained through his internship, Josh highly recommends students and recent graduates take advantage of an internship program. “Find out which companies you’re interested in working for and start applying for internships,” he says. “If your work ethic aligns with the hosting company, there’s a good possibility your internship could lead to a full-time position. A majority of our engineers started as interns, and I wouldn’t be in the position I am today if I hadn’t completed my internship.”

Today, Josh’s work as a Test Engineer keeps him busy on many challenging projects, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. “I like to stay engaged in meaningful tasks, and as a Test Engineer, my projects are always different and always require me to overcome various obstacles to see them through to completion.” He also enjoys the fact that he can often get away from his desk for hands-on work on Bobcat equipment.

Senior Manager - Dealer Accounts

From living in different parts of the U.S. to the friends he’s made, District Sales Manager Tim’s 34 years with the company have had a profound impact on his life. “Having so many years of service is unique in corporate America today,” he says. “I have a great sense of loyalty to this company, which manufactures a wonderful product and equips its employees with tools for success.”

Tim has worked in three different sales territories in the U.S., and he has learned a lot through each move. “The most rewarding opportunity was when I was transferred to the North and South Carolina area to take over a territory,” he says. “That was a new culture for me, coming from North Dakota, but the people were friendly and were willing to work hard to sell our equipment.”

Not only has he had the opportunity to live in various parts of the U.S., he’s also made lifelong friends along the way. “The people I’ve worked with over the years have become some of my best friends,” he says. “We all have common goals and face similar situations on a daily basis. We all work together to build the Bobcat brand, improve our dealerships and sell equipment.”

Tim says he loves working for the No. 1 manufacturer of compact equipment in the world. “It’s been an honor to work for and represent this company,” he says. “I’ve been able to travel and work with some incredible people who are dedicated to the equipment business and helping customers get their work done. Bobcat equipment and people are just plain fun to be around.”

Product Service Manager

Watching her dad get frustrated over a malfunctioning combine on her family farm led Product Service Manager Jenny Evans into the engineering field.

Today, that desire to fix things and improve designs fuels her to deliver solutions that work for customers.

Jenny first joined the company in June 2012 and served as a liaison between manufacturing and design engineers. While she’s not currently in an engineering role, her knowledge of engineering is a big help. “You can take feedback from a dealer or customer and then communicate that in engineering terms,” she says. “Watching a customer use a design that I had a hand inputs a big smile on my face and seeing the customer happy because you solved their problem is great.”

When asked what sets our company apart from other companies, Jenny says the freedom engineers have is a big draw. “We have a lot of freedom to try things and to make our own work,” she says. “If you’re going to be happier working on a skid-steer loader, they’re going to try to make that happen for you.”

The other great part about working for our company is how family-focused it is, Jenny says. “Family comes first, and that’s evident in family-friendly company events like picnics, taking time off for vacations and the ability to take care of family obligations during the day,” she says. For Jenny, the family feeling continues with fun ways to engage with coworkers, such as golf scrambles, sports leagues and community service opportunities.
